My client, a leading mobile and web based media company with an impressive track record of delivery into all the largest mobile operators in the UK, is looking to recruit a web developer to join their team. Ideally you will already be working in a similar environment, although this is not a pre-requisite. The Web Developer will have the opportunity to experience some of the following key areas of the Web development process; customer specification, planning, development and delivery. Innovative thinking, creative use of relevant technologies and sharp development skills will come naturally to you. and you will have the ability to translate designs, ideas and concepts into useful and memorable interactive web-site and web-based applications. Attention to detail and ability to uphold and deliver work at the highest quality standards is essential. Main responsibilities for this opportunity include developing interactive content including interfaces, graphics and web sites. You will be pro-active in the development of new graphical and data interfaces, be able to use existing reusable components, classes and libraries already developed by the design teams and will collaborate with designers and other developers to create outstanding web work. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you should have good PHP or Perl skills, knowledge of scripting languages including Javascript, HTML or CSS, exposure to xml and/or DTD based implementations and will be familiar with MySQL and Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of interfaces to external data and interfaces to external APIs and scripts would be beneficial as would experience of working with databases like Postgres SQL, SQL Server or Oracle Server. Experience of Flash and ActionScript would be a definitive advantage and it would also be helpful if you you had experience of delivering multilingual content.
