Experience Oracle and SQL DBA (Database Administrator) sought for my Epsom Surrey / London Border Client. This role covers a variety of duties maintaining business critical Oracle databases running on both Unix (Solaris) and Win 2000 / 2003 server. You will also be supporting and maintaining SQL Server (Version 2000 and 2005). As such we seek an Oracle SQL Server Database with exp of database administration and monitoring toolsets (TOAD, Enterprise Manager), scripting (shell, pl/sql. tsql) and IT project work. The Oracle SQL Database administrator role will also get involved with Data Warehousing and reporting toolsets (Informatica, Cognos) and experience of this and SAN storage technologies, Enterprise monitoring toolsets (Tivoli) and multi-National character sets would be a distinct bonus. In short out ideal candidate with have the following: Oracle database administration skills to include: o Versions 8i to 10g Release 2 o RMAN o RAC and Data Guard o Performance tuning and Data Warehousing techniques o Multi National character sets (Globalisation) SQL Server database administration skills to include o SQL Server 2000 and 2005 o SQL Server Clustering o Performance tuning Operating system experience o Solaris 8 to 10 o MS Windows Server 2000 and 2003 o Relevant clustering technologies Scripting: shell, pl/sql and tsql experience Good interpersonal skills are also required for this DBA position which included seeking an organised and well disciplined individual who is both methodical and structured in their approach to work. This role would also suit a patient and understanding individual well used to providing solutions to complex business problems often working to tight and pressured timescales.
